The Frenchman says his international team-mate deserves to end Lionel Messi's dominance of the most prestigious individual accolade in the game

Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri feels Franck Ribery should win the Fifa Ballon d'Or in light of his fine performances for Bayern Munich and France this year.
Ribery guided the Bavarians to a historic treble last season with a string of fine displays, while he has developed into his country's undisputed star player as well, after previously struggling to replicate his club form for the national team.
"Ribery has been accused of failing to show up for France, but he carries the team these days. He would be great for any team," Nasri told reporters.
"He was already voted Uefa's Best Player in Europe and I really hope that he wins the Fifa Ballon d'Or as well. It would really be the crown on his career.
"I don't know Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo personally, but I do know Franck. He has won everything he could win this year.
