Germany coach Joachim Low has suggested that there is "nothing" stopping him being offered and accepting a new contract following his side's 5-3 win over Sweden.
The Mannschaft had already secured a spot in World Cup 2014 but added gloss to the qualification process by defeating the second-placed Group C side on away turf.
A hat-trick from Andre Schurrle along with goals from Mesut Ozil and Mario Gotze were enough to ensure Germany ended their campaign unbeaten - despite two strikes from Tobias Hysen an effort from Alexander Kacaniklic at the Friends Arena.
Low stressed he intends to commit to the national team beyond 2014, praised Schurrle's move to the Premier League and stressed Philipp Lahm will return to full-back instead of midfield in the long term.
"Nothing stands in the way of my contract extension," the coach told reporters after the match.
"The move to Chelsea was good for Schurrle. I see Lahm's permanent position being at right-back."
Germany gained a measure of revenge against the Swedes, who were the only side to take points off them in Group C after drawing 4-4 in the reverse fixture, but Lahm was critical about the further three goals conceded on Tuesday.
